
Anthony David Gonzalez was born on the 27th of February, 1976. He is an American football tight end. He played for 17 seasons in the National Football League. Gonzalez is regarded as one of the greatest tight ends to ever play and currently is the most successful NFL tight end in terms of receiving yards and receptions by tight ends. Gonzalez also ranks third in the number of receptions he has. Gonzalez spent his first 12 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, who selected him in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Additionally, he was a part of the Atlanta Falcons for five of the final seasons. Since retiring in 2013, Gonzalez has served as an analyst on football for NFL on Prime Video and was previously at CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez finished his career with 14 Pro Bowl selections, the most for a tight end and second most in league history, in addition to receiving six first-team All-Pros. Gonzalez is known for his endurance and rare errors. He played in 272 regular season games, and only lost two fumbles on 1,327 touches. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Gonzalez was inducted in the year 2019.
